Peach Roses from the market in Verona Italy

The longest day of the year…when the fireflies are out…and the roses are blooming and the air is filled with the smell of honeysuckle. Enjoy it and make it a wonderful day for you and your loved ones. Go for a walk, a hike, a bicycle ride (I did this morning)…it’s so nice out and remember to find one thing to be grateful for each day…it’s there for the us… like the air we breathe….just waiting to be noticed. Peace to all…. A

The rains are forecasted for the entire weekend..the grass is growing at a rapid rate and GREEN…and I do love the color of green and I love Spring…I hope it lasts until June …and we have lots of flowers to gaze upon and lots of hikes to enjoy!  One of my favorites is the trek up Max Patch…this photo was from last fall, however, it can still be enjoyed and will be again. I do hope you are enjoying the outdoors and even though we did not have a winter… I will make the most of Spring! Ciao Mi Amicas!

A Winter without Snow in the Western North Carolina Mountains

I mentioned this to a friend today…that said…it did snow some….I can assure you…it was like NOT having Any! I missed it!  I enjoy SNOW DAYS…those unexpected days where you wake up to 3″ or more and everything is closed down and you know you can stay home in your pajamas – drink hot chocolate – get dressed and go sledding if you want. Take photos of the snow in your back yard. I’ll try to find one to post in this blogpost. I miss it!  The flowers are blooming – the grass is growing and the trees are beginning to bloom as well. There’s even bees and wasps out…it’s NOT officially spring yet! And….my body is saying ‘what happened to Winter and the hibernation period’? Well…as far as the job front is concerned..it’s almost been a year since my layoff from the G.M. position of 10 years! The year has been a roller coaster to say the least. I thank God for the work I have and for those who have supported me through it.  It’s been quite a challenge and I sense that it’s not settled down for me yet.  I also give thanks for my husband, who’s been so supportive, my family and my friends. May you be enjoying your day/season and/or current job. Until the next post – ciao!

Max Patch - near Asheville, North Carolina

I have some new photos to share with you. Last week was a GOOD week at FALC. We had our first faculty/student luncheon…which was delicious and fun. I do hope to get this school up and operating at full capacity. It’s a great group of people….the Artists are wonderful and so are the students. To think this is the ONLY school in the USA that teaches the art of Fresco…amazing! And it’s located in the mountains of Western North Carolina.  Take a look at the photo I’ve uploaded from a recent weekend hike. Enjoy!

Sharing thoughts about Fall and Photos…..

Life has been quite a turn of events….a new adventure….with the new position at the Fine Arts League of the Carolinas, my blank photo cards have begun to take off, and Fall is fast approaching. I know Fall makes some people slip into the SAD ‘Seasonal Affectiveness Disorder’….but, I look at it as a time for reflection…a time of quiet and I welcome that! Just as I do the Spring! The photos I will share are from my collection of ‘photo cards’. One can see more on Face Book at NC Trees Photography. Let me know your thoughts. Until then….enjoy the Fall and remember…Spring will come again!

A lot has happened since my last post. My job has been moving a lightening speed. Many hours have been spent organizing and creating files, forms, policies, blog posts on Blogger entitled Discovering the Fine Arts League of the Carolinas. Recently we hosted an event for the spouses of Governors throughout the United States at the non-profit art school – it was a success! I’m enjoying a new world as an Administrative Assistant who supports Fine Arts and the Instructors and Students in this very unique setting in Asheville, North Carolina. If you’re interested in seeing what classes are offered at The Fine Arts League of the Carolina – go to our website at: www.FineArtsLeague.Org and sign up for a class or two! Hope you’re enjoying your Labor Day. Ciao!
